Tech Camp Added to Summer Schedule
Bedford Christian Camp will host the region’s newest special interest camp this summer. Tech Camp, held July 19-24, is open to those completing 6th-12th grades who have an interest in exploring the technical aspects of church worship and ministry.
Registered campers will choose one of five areas of concentration:
- photography;
- graphic design;
- web use & social media;
- music, sound and video; or
- PowerPoint and other church software.
Throughout the week, campers will work with a project team, learning technical and creative skills that they will incorporate into evening worship services.
Another unique feature of Tech Camp is on-site visits to First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Bedford. The use of the church’s audio/visual equipment will give campers a hands-on outlet for creating enhanced worship in their own churches.
The 2010 camp theme, Be A Hero, will provide many creative opportunities for “techies” to weave the study of Biblical and contemporary heroism into their projects. Counselors with specialized technical skills will help facilitate their efforts.

Bedford Camp Work Day Set for May 16
It’s time to get Bedford Christian Camp ready for the summer camping season. The spring work day at Bedford Camp is scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2009, beginning at 8:00 a.m.
Many volunteers are needed for the various chores of spring cleaning in buildings and cleaning up debris on the grounds. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The most pressing needs are the spring cleaning of cabins, bathhouses, Craft Cabin and Overlook Lodge. The camp also needs people that day to remove fallen limbs from the mown areas.
There is always wood to be cut, split and stacked.
Contact Leila Dailey, associate pastor at First Christian Church in Bedford, for more information and to say you will be coming. The church needs an accurate count in order to prepare food and supplies. Please contact Leila at the church, (812) 275-4497 or by email to let her know the size of your group.
