Pancakes for Haiti at Southport Christian Church

Southport Christian Church on the south side of Indianapolis invites everyone to PANCAKES FOR HAITI AND COMMUNITY FEST on Saturday, July 10, from 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. This special event will raise money for the church’s Spiritual Mission Trip to Haiti with the goal of rebuilding a school.

During the pancake breakfast, an exclusive interview with Indianapolis Colts’ wide receiver, Pierre Garçon, will be shown. Garçon, whose family is from Haiti, is a strong supporter of the earthquake relief effort. Attendees will have the opportunity to bid on an authentically autographed Garçon jersey and Colts football.

Because the infrastructure of Haiti is not yet ready to receive mission teams, Southport launched the spiritual mission trip as an alternative way to help with the rebuilding effort. The church is raising money as it would to send a mission team. However, instead of using the money to send a team, the money will be sent to a group of Haitians in that country who will be working to rebuild the school.

Other event highlights include a bounce house for the kids and a Bicycle Rodeo. The event will be held at Southport Christian Church, located at 201 E. Epler Ave. in Indianapolis. For more information, please call the church at (317) 784-4431.
