Disciples Mission Fund for 2009

leave a comment »

After a smooth ride through the first three quarters of 2009, contributions to Disciples Mission Fund from Indiana congregations dropped, ending the year at $1,054,540, down 7% from 2008. The Indiana region receives 40.12% of those contributions to support its ministry with churches and ministers.

The decline reflects giving patterns across the church as congregations feel the pinch of the current recession. Across the U.S. and Canada, contributions to Disciples Mission Fund for 2009 were down 10% from 2008.

That trend continued in January 2010, as DMF contributions from Indiana for the month were down 6.2% from the same period a year ago.

In spite of an overall decline, though, the region celebrates the generosity of the congregations listed below that even in difficult times, increased giving, made significant gifts and made new gifts to Disciples Mission Fund.
