‘The Resurrected Life’ to Air on WHMB-TV40

without comments

The Resurrected Life: Understanding the Meaning of Easter will be aired on WHMB-TV40 at 10:30 p.m. on Good Friday.  The program was originally produced in 1999 by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) for the National Council of Churches.  It aired on VISION-TV and The Odyssey Network in 2000.

Ted Nottingham, pastor of Northwood Christian Church in Indianapolis, produced The Resurrected Life on behalf of the church. “I hope it will bless lives with renewed insight into what lies beyond the symbols and the story because it deals with the personal transformation we as Christians are called into,” Nottingham concludes.

The program is a film of artistic images drawn from the Holy Land, soul-stirring music, and the wisdom of prominent spiritual teachers representing various Christian traditions.

Several Disciples leaders, past and present, are among those included in the film.  Former General Minister and President Dick Hamm appears, as well as Rev. Judy Turner and Rev. Kay Bessler-Northcutt.  Dr. Ed Wheeler, now serving as President of Christian Theological Seminary, is also featured.

The film also includes original music by the late Curt Miller, former director of the Office of Communication for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Broadcasting Christian programming since 1973, WHMB-TV40 in Indianapolis is the longest continuously-operated Christian television station in the nation.   WHMB’s over-the-air analog signal is channel 40, and the digital signal is located on RF channel 16.

Comcast subscibers will find WHMB on channel 9.  Brighthouse subscribers receive WHMB on channel 22. WHMB is located on DISH Network at channel 8457.  WHMB-TV 40 is not on DirecTV in Indianapolis.

The congregation of Little Eagle Creek Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Westfield, Ind., celebrated its 150th anniversary on Sunday, October 26.

Dr. Richard Hamm, former General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) preached at the morning worship service.  Dr. Hamm came to Little Eagle Creek as a student pastor and served the congregation from 1969 to 1974.

A luncheon following the service and an open house reception added to the day’s celebration.  Church memorabilia was proudly displayed as visitors and members reminisced about events in the life of the church.

Rev. Stephen Yarbrough is beginning his second year serving the congregation as senior minister.
